BenchMarked ("we", "our", or "the app") is a community-driven app for discovering and sharing benches. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Account Information
When you sign in with Apple, we receive your name and email address (or Apple's anonymised relay email if you choose to hide your email). This is stored in our database to identify your account.
Location Data
We collect your GPS location while using the app to show nearby benches and to tag the location of benches you submit. Location is only used while the app is in use and is never shared with third parties.
Photos
Photos you submit of benches are uploaded to our servers and displayed publicly within the app to other users.
Usage Data
We store records of benches you have submitted, benches you have unlocked, and ratings you have given. This data is tied to your account.
• To display benches near you
• To attribute submitted benches to your account and award points
• To process bench unlocks and point transactions
• To calculate and display bench ratings
• To allow administrators to moderate submitted content
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your data with third parties except:
• Firebase (Google) — our backend infrastructure provider, used for authentication, database, and file storage. Firebase's privacy policy applies: firebase.google.com/support/privacy
When you submit a bench, an administrator is notified by email and may review the photo to ensure it complies with community guidelines. Administrators can remove content or suspend accounts that violate these guidelines.
Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Profile screen within the app.
BenchMarked is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
You have the right to:
• Access the data we hold about you
• Delete your account and all associated data (via the app's Profile screen)
